Empanada Lua is a celebration of family, culture and delicious food. As a transplant from Paraguay, our founder is bringing the flavors of Latin America to Music City.
We offer delicious Paraguayan food with a small American twist! From fried or baked empanadas to decadent Tres Leches, our kitchen has something for everyone. We can cater your event or find our trailer on the streets of Nashville and the surrounding towns.
We are family owned and operated! Our head cook and founder, Maria, has a passion for saving lives as well as filling stomachs. When she isn't bringing Paraguayan dishes and culture to the streets of Nashville, she can be found treating patients at a local hospital. Every member of this multi-generational home has a key role in making the business successful, including Maria's five young children. Empanada Lua is truly a family affair.
Traditional Paraguayan Art. Ñanduti means spider web in Guaraní, which is the language of the indigenous tribes of Paraguay. It is inspired by the native Mburucuyá flower and expressed through various mediums; predominately intricate weavings like the one pictured. Follow the links to learn more about Ñanduti and the indigenous peoples of Paraguay.
Vibrant, unique and Paraguay's national flower! Known as the Blue Crown Passion Flower in North America, Mburucuyá thrives in tropical climates and produces a sweet, golden fruit. The gorgeous blossoms only grace us for a short period each season, but they are celebrated year round in the Ñanduti creations.
